Dalam keterangan tertulis yang diterima Liputan6.com, Senin (5/1/2026) single terbaru ini hadir menyusul kesuksesan single sebelumnya, “terrible4u” dan “what can i do?”, yang kini mencatatkan lebih dari 750 ribu streams mingguan di Spotify.

Lagu “say that!” sendiri adalah tembang indie-pop yang mengangkat topik patah hati. Namun hal ini disamarkan lewat nuansa upbeat dan aransemen R&B dan elektronik yang terdengar ringan. Lirik lagunya, menggambarkan tarik-ulur perasaan saat harus meninggalkan seseorang yang masih dicintai.

"Lagu ini tentang rasa menyesal atas kata-kata yang tak pernah terucap setelah meninggalkan seseorang yang masih kita cintai, tentang keinginan agar mereka tahu bahwa pernah ada momen di mana kita benar-benar ingin menghabiskan hidup bersama, meski pada akhirnya harus memilih untuk pergi," kata Luke Chiang dalam pernyataannya.
